About Train Shetland |

Train Shetland is the largest organiser for Skillseeker and Modern Apprentices in Shetland with over 32 different programmes available. Currently 200 young people are in employment whilst undertaking training leading to nationally recognised qualifications.
Train Shetland organises short courses on behalf of Shetland Islands Council and for the wider business community. Courses vary from short ½ day courses to certificated courses, which could take up to 1 year. The main areas the service offers are courses in Health and Safety, First Aid, Construction related courses, Computing and Admin and Management Training. Train Shetland will also tailor courses to suit the individual requirements of you and your company and investigate delivery of courses not currently offered.

Train Shetland was formed in July 2002 to streamline the services offered to the public. It has two main areas in which it operates: Skillseeker/Modern Apprentice training and Short Courses.

We are currently operating on two sites. One specialising in Short Courses and the other in Vocational Training.
Our Short Course site is situated at North Gremista Industrial Estate, Lerwick. This building has five training rooms and one meeting room, including an IT training room with ten computers. These rooms can be hired by individuals and businesses at very competitive rates.
Our Vocational Training site is in Lover's Loan, Lerwick. This is were you will come for interviews with our staff, induction and also if you ever need to visit us throughout your training.
