Funding for Apprentice training 16-19yrs and 20+
Our new funding contract with Skills Development Scotland will allow us to support 51 new apprenticeship places this year for 16-19 year olds. A new contract to support apprenticeships for those over 20 years of age is in the tendering process now and will be announced by SDS in May. We will advertise widely if we are awarded any of these places - as it will be available to employers in all sectors, including business admin, cookery, hairdressing and others who havn't previously been allowed to recruit 20+ trainees.

Train Shetland – Vocational Training manages Modern Apprenticeships across a wide range of companies throughout Shetland. We support a range of applicants; school leavers, students and adults, looking for skills-based employment with training. We are also responsible for co-coordinating Undergraduate summer placements with local companies through a national enterprise scheme.
