Bricklaying Level 3 Modern Apprenticeship

Typical duties include: constructing all types of walling from plain walls to more detailed work; reading plans and drawings; repairing and constructing extensions; new builds or renovations.

Description:

You will spend five x four-week blocks at Inverness College in first and second year. Third and forth years will be mostly work based, with a Skills Test in the fourth year to complete the Modern Apprenticeship.

Duration:

This is a four-year programme that incorporates a Modern Apprenticeship.

Delivery:

  • Block release to Inverness College
  • Practical assessments
  • Skills tests

Qualifications you will acquire:

  • SVQ Level 3 Construction: Bricklaying
  • Modern Apprenticeship in Construction

Personal qualities, skills and qualifications:

  • Ideally applicants should have good Standard Grades in subjects such as Maths, Physics, Graphical Communications, and Craft and Design
  • Good co-ordination and dexterity is essential
  • Applicants must be physically able for the range of practical tasks involved

Note: this qualification can only be delivered by Train Shetland if the employer requesting training is not an affiliated member of Construction Skills.
