Main duties will include: working on hot and cold water plumbing; repair and installation of pipes, sewage works, drainage and central heating; fitting toilets, baths, showers and sinks; and installing under floor heating.

Description:

The programme is designed for persons who are involved in plumbing industry. It follows a programme designed for the attainment of SVQ Level 3 in Plumbing with additional modules covering oil and leadwork. The apprenticeship is approved by the Scottish Northern Ireland Joint Board for Plumbing. You will attend Inverness College on a block release basis: 36 weeks in blocks of two to five weeks spread over three years. The final year is work based. This leads to an SVQ Level 3 in Plumbing and the Modern Apprenticeship qualification.

This is a four-year programme that incorporates a Modern Apprenticeship.

Personal qualities, skills and qualifications:

• Ideally applicants should have good Standard Grades in subjects such as Maths, Physics, Graphical Communications, and Craft and Design
• Good co-ordination and dexterity is essential
• Applicants must be physically able for the range of practical tasks involved
