Duties will include installation/maintenance of pipes, air ducts and drainage, welding and fabrication of ducting and pipes, work on boiler systems and control systems, and some general plumbing duties.

Description:

Trainees currently attend North Glasgow College for a total of 66 weeks.  This is split over 3 - 5 weeks blocks spread over a four-year period. Assessments are carried out at college and the programme will result in a SVQ Level 3 Modern Apprenticeship qualification.

Duration:

The course will take four years to complete.

Delivery:

• Block release to North Glasgow College
• Compilation of Portfolio of Evidence and workbooks
• Written assignments
• Workplace projects

Qualifications you will acquire:

• SVQ Level 3 Heating and Ventilation Installation or SVQ Level 3 Heating and Ventilation Servicing
• Modern Apprenticeship in Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration

Personal qualities, skills and qualifications:

• Ideally applicants should have good Standard Grades in subjects such as Maths, Physics, Graphical Communications, and Craft and Design
• Good co-ordination and dexterity is essential
• Applicants must be physically able for the range of practical tasks involved
