Electrical Engineering Level 3 Modern Apprenticeship

Electrical engineering duties include: repair and servicing of generators, alternators, 3 phase electrical supplies, high and low voltage electrical generation and distribution, and all aspects of plant electrical systems.

You will attend NAFC Marine Centre (one 9-week , oneĀ 10-week and one 11-week block) leading to an SVQ Level 2 in Performing Engineering Operation and a National Certificate. Level 2 units include working safety, use of technical information, marking out, fitting, machining and welding. NC units include maths, computing, assembly skills, maintenance, pneumatics, hydraulics, health & safety, engineering maths and C.I engines.

  • Report writing

Qualifications you will acquire:

  • SVQ Level 2 Performing Engineering Operations
  • SVQ Level 3 Engineering Maintenance
  • Modern Apprenticeship in Engineering
  • NC in Electrical Engineering

Personal qualities, skills and qualifications:

  • Ideally applicants should have good Standard Grades in subjects such as Maths, Physics, Graphical Communications, and Craft and Design
  • Good co-ordination and dexterity is essential
  • A mature outlook and willingness to work as part of a team are essential
  • The ability to pass the industry screening test for colour vision
