Employment could be with a variety of local companies including engineering companies, fish factories, fish farms, quarries etc – in fact any organisation which owns and maintains any kind of machinery, or works on machinery for customers. Duties will include the servicing, maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment, and could include hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, engines, pumps etc. Description: You will attend NAFC Marine Centre (one 9-week , one 10-week and one 11-week block) leading to an SVQ Level 2 in Performing Engineering Operation and a National Certificate. Level 2 units include working safety, use of technical information, marking out, fitting, machining and welding. NC units include maths, computing, assembly skills, maintenance, pneumatics, hydraulics, health & safety, engineering maths and C.I engines.
